SYNOPSIS:
A documentary focused on the unique spaces of txokos, or gastronomic societies, where artisanal cuisine is the main protagonist. Basque people enjoy the entire process of selecting local products at open air markets, cooking together, and, finally, eating and celebrating communally around the table. In txokos, all of these processes come to life. The documentary will include the voices of a selection of renowned Basque chefs in their own restaurant kitchens, and will highlight products like Rioja wine, Idiazabal cheese, and gourmet pastries, to name a few. By emphasizing the products and the chefs who work with them, the film will underline the value, essence, and environment in which delicious meals are created.
