The dystopian film Bihar, meaning ‘tomorrow’ in Basque, follows the story of a girl born in 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, living in a slowly crumbling society – showing viewers a glimpse into the future.
The film is realistic and reflective, covering the potentially fatal struggles as a result of sticking to non-sustainable models through the eyes of the young girl.
For the project’s launch, a model of the girl’s head was created and placed in the Estuary of Bilbao, designed to appear as if drowning with the changing tide of the water.
The film had more than 3,000 impacts in media and press, with coverage in 75 different countries worldwide.
News of the short film went viral on social media, securing more than 300 million views and a spot on Basque Country’s main TV channel at prime time.”
